This is an ISO 6400 fine JPG image from the Sony Alpha
A700. This image has been lightly noise reduced and sharpened using Neat Image
Pro Plus. The artifacts left over by in-camera noise reduction are pretty easy
to deal with in Neat Image and this makes for pretty smooth backgrounds and
decent bokeh even at ISO6400. I am fairly impressed with ISO 6400 and I have not
come across and major problems with Firmware Version 2 as yet. Everyone is
screaming they want an off button for on-board NR and I agree this would be
nice, but I think many are failing to appreciate the ease at which the Sony A700
can make a great photograph. When you can make reasonable size prints at
ISO6400, I don't think people have too much to complain about, do you?
